One of the things that most interests people considering ultrasonic rhinoplasty is whether the change is visible right away or whether you need to wait weeks to notice any difference. Today we’re sharing a real case that answers that question: the before-and-after photographs were taken during the surgery itself, right after the procedure was finished.

A visible change right after surgery
In this case, Dr. Pérez Villar worked on a nose with a poorly defined dorsum and a tip with little projection, two of the aspects that most concern patients looking for a more harmonious profile. Thanks to the precision of ultrasonic rhinoplasty, the result is already visible on the operating table itself: a cleaner dorsum, a more defined tip and a nose that is better integrated with the rest of the face, with a natural result and no abrupt changes.
Why is the change visible so quickly?
Ultrasonic rhinoplasty uses a piezoelectric scalpel to reshape the nasal bone with far more precision than traditional instruments. This allows the bone structure to be worked on in a controlled way, so much of the change in the bone profile is already visible at the end of the procedure, even before the swelling typical of the postoperative period appears.
This doesn’t mean the result is finished. What you see right after leaving the operating room is the structural basis of the new profile; from there, the nose continues to evolve progressively.
The final result, a progressive process
As with any rhinoplasty, swelling and changes in the skin will gradually soften the appearance of the nose over the following weeks and months. Each patient has their own recovery and de-swelling timeline, so two people operated on with the same technique can evolve at different rates. You can check our recovery recommendations after rhinoplasty here.
That’s why, during the initial consultation, we always explain what to expect at each stage: the structural change that is already visible in the operating room, and the gradual evolution that follows afterwards, until reaching the final result. If you’d like to see other examples, you can check out more real ultrasonic rhinoplasty cases on the blog.
Thank you to our patient for trusting us and allowing us to share her progress.
Frequently asked questions
Is the change visible right after surgery?
Yes. With ultrasonic rhinoplasty, much of the change in the bone structure is already visible at the end of the procedure, even before the swelling of the postoperative period appears.
When can you see the final result of an ultrasonic rhinoplasty?
The final result becomes visible progressively, as swelling goes down and the skin adapts to the new structure, over the weeks and months following surgery.
Why does each patient take a different amount of time to recover?
Because recovery and de-swelling depend on individual factors, such as skin type or each person’s healing response, so two patients operated on with the same technique can evolve at different rates.
