Today we present the real case of a patient who came to our clinic with significant alterations in the shape and alignment of her nose, as well as a deviated septum that affected both appearance and breathing. Initial State: Diagnosis and Nasal Characteristics
During the initial assessment, we observed that the patient presented:
- Low radix (nasal root positioned lower than ideal).
- High dorsal hump, which hardened her profile.
- Bulbous and undefined nasal tip, which made the nose look wider.
- Severe laterorrhinia to the left, with visible nasal deviation.
- Deviation of the caudal nasal septum and anterior nasal spine, causing asymmetry and possible breathing issues.
The Procedure: Ultrasonic Septorhinoplasty
For this case, we opted for ultrasonic septorhinoplasty, a procedure that uses piezoelectric instruments to reshape bone and cartilage with millimetric precision, reducing trauma and speeding up recovery.
During surgery, we corrected:
- Radix elevation to balance the profile.
- Reduction and reshaping of the nasal dorsum, leaving a slight aesthetic curve.
- Definition of the nasal tip, making it finer and more proportionate.
- Creation of a subtle supratip to visually differentiate the dorsum from the tip.
- Correction of laterorrhinia, aligning the nose with the facial midline.
- Straightening of the nasal septum and alignment of the anterior nasal spine to improve symmetry and breathing.
